Provider Credentials¶
Purpose¶
This page is for an administrator who is authorized to manage a supported provider for the current tenant — replacing a stored credential and checking whether one exists.
Before you start¶
- You have the right account for this screen (see Permissions and Access).
- The date and record you are working on are correct.
- Words you do not know are in the Glossary.
Access¶
Admin Console → Tenants → Provider Settings
Screen¶
Steps¶
Show a Saved Value¶
- Open Provider Settings.
- Select the exact tenant and provider key.
- Choose Show saved value only when you genuinely need the plain text.
- Hide it immediately afterwards.
Leaving the detail, changing tenant or tab, or leaving the page clears the displayed value.
Replace a Credential¶
- Enter the approved replacement in the exact credential field.
- Save, once.
- Confirm the setting reads Configured.
Fields¶
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Tenant | Whose credential this is |
| Provider key | Which service the credential belongs to |
| Configured | A stored value exists |
| Not configured | No stored value for that key |
| Show saved value | Reveals the plain text. Use it as briefly as possible |
Status¶
| Shown | What it does not prove |
|---|---|
| Configured | That the provider accepted the value, or that connectivity works |
| Not configured | That the provider has no credential elsewhere |
Notes¶
- Never copy a credential into this manual, into email, chat, tickets, screenshots or logs.
- Saving replaces the stored value. It does not test it.
- Test connectivity only through the approved provider-specific procedure.
- If Save fails or the result is unclear, reload and reread the status before trying again.
- Credentials cannot be removed from this screen. Do not clear the field or edit the database as a substitute — ask whoever owns the provider.
- Confirm the tenant and the credential key before you type anything. A credential entered against the wrong tenant or key is worse than not entering it.
