Printing a Sales Weight Ticket¶
Purpose¶
It prints what the sales order currently says, together with the equipment on it.
Who does this¶
MK outbound staff who need a weight ticket printed for a sales order.
Before you start¶
- You have the right account (see Permissions and Access).
- The record and date you are working on are correct.
- Words you do not know are in the Glossary.
The one thing to understand¶
A printed sales weight ticket is not proof that anything was weighed.
It is a printout of the order as it stands. It can print even when no scale ticket exists, because it reads the order and not the weighing record.
If you need proof that goods were physically weighed, that is a different document — see Weighing and Scale Tickets.
Access¶
Open the outbound order, then the Sales Weight Ticket.
Before you print¶
- Open the order and check the customer, the items and the equipment.
- Check the weights and quantities on the order are the ones you expect.
- Open the weight ticket and compare every value against the order.
- Check the ticket is for the shipment you mean, not another one on the same order.
Printing¶
- Confirm the printer and the destination.
- Print.
- File the printed copy with the shipment paperwork.
If something goes wrong¶
| Situation | What you do |
|---|---|
| A weight on the printout is wrong | Fix the order first, then reprint. Do not write on the printout. |
| The ticket is for the wrong shipment | Check which shipment on the order you are printing. |
| You expected a scale ticket number on it | This document does not carry one. Check the scale record separately. |
| The print result is unclear | Check the printer before reprinting. |
| The order changed after printing | The copy you hold is out of date. Reopen and reprint if needed. |
Who owns the next step¶
Outbound staff own this document. The weighing itself is owned by the yard team — see The working day, step by step.
