Reviewing the Daily Reports

Purpose

It shows reports. It changes nothing.

Who does this

Office staff who check the day's numbers and hand anything wrong to the person who owns it.

Before you start

  • You have the right account (see Permissions and Access).
  • The record and date you are working on are correct.
  • Words you do not know are in the Glossary.

What this does

It shows reports. It changes nothing.

A report is not a way to correct anything. If a number looks wrong, find the record it came from and fix it there. Editing from a report is not possible, and a report cannot authorise a change.

There is also no "done" mark on a report. A review is finished when you have compared what you saw and either fixed the source or passed the difference to someone.

Inventory movement

Report > Inventory Report

  1. Set the company and the date range you are reviewing.
  2. Look at the Inbound, Outbound and Inventory tabs.
  3. Sort and filter to find anything unusual.
  4. For each oddity, go to the record it came from and check it there.
  5. Export to Excel only if you need the numbers elsewhere. The export follows the filters you have set.

Storage aging

Report > Storage Report

  1. Choose the company.
  2. The report shows that company's unloaded transloads, and how long each has been waiting.
  3. Check the company you picked before you read the totals.

The aging is always counted up to today. You cannot ask what it looked like on a past date, so the figures only mean something as of now.

Where to go to fix something

What you saw Where it is owned
A physical inventory figure Physical inventory snapshot
A trucking charge is missing Refreshing Trucking Accessorial Rates
Stock or bale counts disagree Inventory adjustment, or bale inventory
A location looks wrong Warehouse Map

If something goes wrong

Situation What you do
A total looks wrong Go to the source record. Do not adjust anything from here.
The report shows nothing for a date you expect work on Check the company and the date range before treating it as missing data.
The export does not match the screen The export follows the filters and the selected tab. Set them again and export once.
You cannot find which record a number came from Note the figure and the report, and hand it to the owning team.

Who owns the next step

You own the review. Whoever owns the underlying record owns the fix — see The working day, step by step for who does what.
